Summary

  • News: Lyyli.ai has been accepted into the highest AI-focused tier of the Google for Startups Cloud Program.

Finnish communications technology company Lyyli AI Oy has been selected for the international Google for Startups Cloud Program. The selection places Lyyli in the program's highest AI tier, designed for growth companies with a strong technical foundation that build with artificial intelligence.

Through the program, Lyyli receives up to USD 350,000 in Google Cloud and Firebase credits over two years. In the first year, cloud capacity is covered at 100% up to USD 250,000. Beyond the financial support, the program opens a direct line to Google cloud architecture experts, technical training, and the latest infrastructure.

While this is a significant technology milestone, its real value is measured in the day-to-day work of communications teams. When an organization moves planning, content production, and approval chains into one system, platform reliability and data protection cannot be compromised.

01Why cloud infrastructure matters to a communications director

Communications teams are currently offered a flood of lightweight AI tools that help draft individual pieces of text. The biggest challenge in organizational communications is not producing text, however — it is managing the whole. Ideas disappear into chat threads, approvals get stuck in email chains, and communications strategy easily drifts apart from daily work.

Lyyli is built to solve this by serving as an operations system for organizational communications. When strategic guidelines, brand rules, unfinished projects, meeting notes, and stakeholder approvals all live in the same environment, technical requirements rise far above those of a typical text generator.

Support from the Google for Startups Cloud Program focuses on three areas that are critical for Lyyli's customers:

1. Security and EU-oriented data processing

In expert organizations, the public sector, and regulated industries, security is the starting point for every system purchase. Lyyli is built for secure organizational use, where customer data is protected with encryption, access controls, workspace isolation, and comprehensive logging.

Google's cloud infrastructure enables Lyyli application data to be stored in data centers located in the EU. In addition, AI processing for Gemini and Claude language models used through Google's Vertex AI environment runs in the EU under Zero Data Retention settings. Our customers' content is never used to train language models. You can read more about our practices on the Lyyli trust page.

2. Reliability and scalability as teams grow

Managing a communications workflow requires continuous availability. When a team prepares a press release, manages crisis communications, or collects expert comments through external review links, the system must respond without delay.

Google Cloud infrastructure gives Lyyli the resources to scale the service safely as customer numbers and data volumes grow. This directly supports, for example, the 99.5% service-level commitment (SLA) of our Professional plan and compute-intensive features such as the AI Meeting Agent that structures communications needs from meetings.

3. Focusing product development on the communications workflow

For software companies, cloud capacity and AI model API calls are a significant cost. Google's support frees Lyyli resources from maintaining basic infrastructure and redirects them into product development that creates customer value.

In practice, this means we can ship features faster that reduce communicators' manual coordination work. Our focus is on how communications strategy and brand voice automatically guide team day-to-day work, how ideas are captured from different channels, and how approval processes and audit trail logging serve even the most demanding organizations.

02Technology enables; people decide

Acceptance into the Google for Startups AI program recognizes Lyyli's technical architecture, but our view of AI's role remains unchanged. AI is an excellent assistant for spotting communications opportunities, drafting first versions, and comparing perspectives — but it does not remove human responsibility.

The real value of communications still comes from expert judgment, strategic insight, and the ability to build trust. A strong technical platform ensures that communications professionals have the best and safest tools possible for that work.
